18 month pictures

These are the kids most recent pictures. We had a rescheduling issue and had to take the pictures in the evening. The kids were tired and slightly cranky. Somehow we still managed to get some pretty good pictures! I love the first one...it's very typical. Caleb is chewing his shoe quite happily while big sister Sarah is giving a look of disapproval! They both love books too so we took some as props. Unfortunately they were both so distracted by the books that neither wanted to pose. In the end we got some great "book" shots.

LIttle Drummer Boy

Caleb recently found a whole new use for their toy drum. He has been crawling in it and can actually sit inside it. They also think it's fun to turn it over and climb on top of it! Yikes!

Holiday Weekend Fun

The kids loved G'ma and G'pas dog Simba. Caleb gave her a hug but I wasn't ready with the camera. Sarah got a little "lashing" from Simba's tail but giggled the whole time. They are both really gentle with dogs and get very excited. Sarah has been saying "rough" for a while to mean a dog and Caleb started this weekend.

The kids enjoyed their very first Christmas parade in Ashland over the Thanksgiving weekend. They watched the majority of it from the perch on Daddy or G'pas shoulders. They were both very taken with it. Then we walked down to watch the lighting. All the lights are out on the plaza (pretty dark), Santa does a count down and then all the lights are turned on. Pretty cool!

Thanksgiving

It's a tradition in David's family for the youngest kiddo to get the "drum bone" so here are Caleb and Sarah with theirs. Caleb did a little gnawing but Sarah didn't want much to do with it. They LOVED T'giving dinner. They ate lots of turkey, potatoes and even tried their first pumpkin pie. The big hit was stuffing. They both loved it. Caleb especially, he couldn't get enough of it.

We spent the weekend in Southern Oregon with David's parents and his Grandma Dot. That's There wasn't much snow but it was cold and the kids got to try out their winter coats and snow boots. They had a blast!

Ravioli Mess

Sarah was eating ravioli recently and unlike her usual tidy self, made quite a mess.

Halloween night

We had a great time on Halloween. We took the kids to a few houses around the neighborhood and they went "trick-or-treating. Sarah was quite taken with a little ghost. She tried to hug it but I wasn't in time with the camera. Caleb also thinks that pumpkins are part of some strong man competition that only he knows about. He really wants to pick them up! They had fun and enjoyed their treats. Sarah layed her items out and looked at them, while Caleb tried to eat the fruit snacks package and all! I can't wait for next year!

Pumpkin Goo

The kids are really enjoying Halloween this year. David cleaned out a pumpkin and we let the kids play with the goo. Caleb was all over it, he dug right in, flinging pumpkin goo all over the kitchen. He was slimed from head to toe and loved it! Sarah didn't like getting dirty and preferred to try the more calculated task of picking up the individual, slimy pumpkin seeds. Which she was pretty good at. They dropped the pumkin top into the pumpkin and tried unsuccessfully to get it out. It was too funny to watch!

Pumpkin Patch

We went to the pumpkin patch and the kids picked out pumpkins. They even wore the special Halloween costumes that Grandma made for them! We went to a place that had a hay bale maze just right for little ones. The kids had a blast.

Fun Stuff

Grandma and Grandpa brought the kids some party blowers. Grandpa was teaching Sarah how to use it. They really had fun with it. Caleb walked around making the sound with his voice since he couldn't do it by blowing. He's also very happy with the hat to his Halloween costume!

Misc. Pix

The first picture is from cousin Michaela's birthday party. We're about to head home so that's why we're in PJ's. If not you would see the kids sporting their first tattoos. It was a Tinkerbell themed party so Caleb has a pirate skull on his arm and Sarah had Tink. They had fun running Mom and Dad ragged. The next two pictures are of them in their new tunnel. Their friend Scout has one and they loved it so much they had to get one of their own. Sarah picks it up and shakes it, they get in it and roll, they chase each other, play peekaboo and so much more in it. It's too funny!

1st Trip to the Beach

We took the kids to the coast over Labor Day weekend. It was a gorgeous day and they absolutely loved it. They both wanted to run to the water. Once Sarah got there she didn't like it but for some reason she just kept going back. Caleb didn't care how cold it was, he wanted to get to the water and play! They both loved the sand, Caleb immediately started burying himself and eventually did eat some. Sarah was a little cautious at first but decided she really liked it. She kept trying to walk in the dry sand and had trouble but it was pretty funny.

Fun Stuff

So here's Caleb wearing Daddy's letterman's jacket. Too cute! A little big yet, but I don't think he cared. They both love climbing the stairs, here's Sarah about to start up. Notice the appropriate message on her little tush as we head into football season. GO DUCKS!

Swingers

The kids finally got to really check out their new swing set. They loved it!

Ball Pit Fun

I couldn't resist adding these pictures. They were taken about a month ago at an indoor play place.

Adventures in Eating

Here's Caleb eating his first "Big Boy" banana. We let him have a half and he went to town. What a slimy mess! I think he enjoyed that part best of all. He's been a little more eager to try and walk lately. He's pushing the ride on toy around and walks holding one hand. He also has been talking a lot. His latest phrase...."Go Ducks!"

Sarah is learning to use a spoon. She was getting very irritated at meal time and once we gave her a little more independence she seemed to be happy. They are eating lots of big kid food these days and they love it. Their favorite is grilled cheese! YUM!

Latest Summer Fun

So here's Sarah showing off her new skill. She decided about a week ago that it was time to walk and she's very excited about it! She'll take 5 or 6 steps before landing in a giggling heap on the floor. Caleb is still pretty content to go with crawling because it seems to be a lot quicker.

Caleb is enjoying (sort of) some time in the pool they got for their birthday. The water was a little cold but he really enjoyed splashing! Caleb and Sarah both had fun trying to catch the spraying water with their fingers and going down the slide.
