Trip to Lone Pine Farm

We took the kids to Lone Pine over the weekend with G'ma and Papa. They really enjoyed it. This is them on the tractor.

Papa got some food for the goats and the kids fed them. They tried hauling it up on the goat walk but the goats didn't want to cooperate. They also tried their first play ground merry go round and checked out a pony and a little donkey.

Role playing

Sarah all dressed up in her new tutu, princess hat and princess wand with her princess shoes. And of course, tearing it up on our recent yard sale find. An authentic guitar that's almost their size.

Here's Caleb strumming the guitar. They both absolutely love it. It's a bit heavy so they will often both sit on the floor with it playing together. Another picture of Caleb with the Tonka rug I bought to go in his new car themed room. He's such a boy!

Boating at the Lake

We spent Sunday afternoon at the lake with the Brunsvold's and the Blackham's. What a great time! The kids had their first ride in a boat. They were both a little nervous about it. But talked a lot about it. They loved playing with Scout and playing in the water.
The kids all suited up. We're calling the life jackets boat coats. I love this picture they are all pretty interested in something. That's Scout with Caleb and Sarah. She is so sweet! Poor thing, I think it was probably a little intimidating to hang out with hurricane Sarah and Caleb! I think they all had fun!

Sarah and mommy on the boat. She was fascinated by the wake but not to excited in general about the boat ride.
Caleb definitely unsure of the whole boat thing. It was cute to see him get all excited when he saw the boat but he's still not too sure about riding in it. At one point though he grabbed the steering wheel. I think if we had let him drive he wouldn't have had a second thought about being on the boat.

Run in the Country

I ran the Coburg Run in the Country last Sunday. It's a half-marathon that goes along some country roads in the middle of nowhere! It's touted as a flat, fast, scenic course. I guess if you like hay, it's pretty scenic. Hay fields for miles. Anyway, I finished in 1:58: 45. That's 3 minutes off my previous time. The next half I have planned isn't until Oct. This is me waving to my own personal cheering section at the finish line. The kids are really into it. They run around the house saying "running." When I got home, Sarah wore my finisher's medal. She says ready, set, go and runs! Good habits starting early!

Pool Time

We set up the pool and the sprinkler the other day. The kids loved it!

Caleb getting sprayed.
Sarah trying to catch the water.

Running through the sprinkler...trying not to get too close!

4th of July

We had our annual 4th of July BBQ. We've taken the last 2 years off because of having twins and then moving last summer. It was nice to get back to it. We love having everyone over and spending an afternoon playing. The day started with the Butte to Butte. Andrea, Gary and I all ran it. It was a great run! Gary tore his Achilles last summer and was back in action to run this summer! Super impressive!
The kids playing in the water table. That's Andrea, Scout, Caleb, Sarah, and our neighbor Sierra.
The men manning the barbeque.
At the picnic table eating yummy food.
Little Will hot roddin' it in the little coupe.
This was actually a picture from the week before. We did the kids' first fireworks with G'ma and G'pa. They loved it. They kept asking for more and couldn't stop laughing.
